Carolyn graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a minor in Art History.  Upon graduation, she moved to New York City to pursue a profession in Interior Design.  Getting her start in commercial applications, Carolyn worked as a Technical Product Specialist for the office furniture division of Knoll, Inc. her first few years in the city.  Helping architects and designers develop custom office furniture applications for high profile clients such as Bank of America and Citigroup was one of her main tasks at Knoll.  From there, Carolyn went on to work as a Junior Interior Designer at J.D. Bell, Inc.  Jason Bell, also a graduate of the University of Alabama’s Interior Design department, implemented Carolyn’s AutoCAD skills and introduced her to the world of residential design.  Overseeing a 2-year, high-end renovation of a 2,000 sq. ft. Tribeca Loft was her largest project collaboration with J.D. Bell, Inc.   Continuing down the residential Interior Design path and striving to gain knowledge about the industry as a whole, Carolyn began to project manage for Soho Construction Group, Inc. overseeing multi-million dollar construction renovations, the main one being a 2,500 sq. ft. penthouse in Greenwich Village.   Being on site with her crew on a daily basis not only broadened Carolyn’s knowledge of critical construction processes, but also allowed her to fully understand a project from beginning to end including, but not limited to, the schematic design phase, comprehensive construction documentation, cost estimation, renovation, and finally the installation of soft goods and decoration.

Carolyn Pritchett founded CPID in October 2010.  She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York
